Pedal the Pacific 2020. We are so excited that you are here.

Hello! We are stoked that you’re interested in being a part of the fourth year of Pedal the Pacific and using your voice to fight for some of the most vulnerable children in our country. We know that sex trafficking is such a complex, overwhelming issue and many of us fall prey to believing that our voice is too small to make any kind of difference. Well, Pedal the Pacific exists to prove that wrong.

The 24 of us who have completed this journey before you believe it to be completely life-changing and quite possibly the most rewarding experience of our lives, which is why we are so excited to see Pedal the Pacific continue on. If you’re not a cyclist, don’t run away. There is no cycling experience required to join this team. In fact, we prefer it that way! That’s why we call ourselves “hilariously un-athetlic.” The purpose is that we are doing something so far outside of our comfort zones, that everyone who knows us can’t help but say “You?! Doing what?!” and then ask the question we want them to ask, which is “why?” - our bikes themselves aren’t going to end sex trafficking. But they will do one important, single thing, which is to open the door for powerful conversations about sex trafficking that is happening here in America.

Please be aware that this trip is extremely physically demanding and will require a lot of your time and energy to successfully prepare - about as much as a part time job. It is important that you are honest with yourself about how much time you can truly commit to both training and fundraising. PTP is a self-supported ride, so you will be camping every night and carrying nearly 40 pounds of gear on your bike while cycling 1,700 HILLY miles so we want to be sure you will have the time to train.

Please read the following requirements and expectations, and if you would still like to apply, be on the lookout for 2020 applications to be released on August 29th! We are so excited to hear from you!
